From 4 to 6 March 2026, the Werkspoorkathedraal in Utrecht will transform into the go-to destination where innovative materials, inspiring ideas and forward-looking design converge. The central theme, NextNow, demonstrates how biobased, circular and readily applicable materials are already shaping a more sustainable built environment today.
MATERIAL EXHIBITION
A permanent and essential feature is the materials exhibition, showcasing no fewer than 250 carefully selected materials. Here, the focus is not on brands, but on the material itself. Visitors can see, touch and discover how biobased resources, recycled waste streams and innovative production processes translate into concrete applications — serving both as inspiration and as an in-depth exploration of the NextNow theme.

High-profile lecture programME
The lecture programme, taking place across two theatres over three days, offers in-depth insights and new perspectives. Featuring Tomorrow’s Timber Talks – The Timber Truth Sessions centred around the book The Timber Truth, in-depth sessions on biobased and recycled materials, the Young Talent Programme, and The Leather Lectures, the programme connects research, practice and design. Architects, designers and experts share insights, case studies and critical reflections — all focused on direct applicability within design practice.
